BEST courses are internationally recognized academic seminars that are realized in cooperation with the local BEST group and expert professors at one of 97 universities across Europe. By participating in BEST courses, you gain complementary knowledge, training in some of the professional relevant areas and expand your horizons in areas that you did not study in detail at the university.
The courses are a combination of lectures and visits to companies/laboratories/factories as well as cultural activities.
The topics of the courses are in the field of engineering, technology and natural sciences, but also on the topic of start-up programs.
In addition to the knowledge you will gain on the courses, you will make numerous acquaintances from all over Europe, have a lot of fun and get to know the many beauties and cultures of other peoples and the country hosting the course.
What topics are covered in BEST courses?
Course topics vary and may be in technology, applied engineering or career skills.
Is there a certificate after attending the course?
Yes, upon completion of the course you receive CIFs (Course Information Form), which you can take to the service of your faculty and depending on the complexity of the course, you can receive 0.5 or 1 ESPB point
How much does it cost to participate in the BEST course?
After confirming that you have been admitted to one of the BEST courses, you need to pay a deposit of 20 euros to the local BEST group (in this case, BEST Novi Sad). The deposit is a guarantee that you will actually go to the course. After attending the course and completing the evaluation on the BEST website, the deposit will be returned in full.
Registration fees for participation (fee), which students can see on the website when registering, for students of the University of Novi Sad, amount to 20% of the total figure shown. Course participants are provided with food and accommodation by the organizers, and it is up to you to organize transport to the city where the course is held.
Do I have to be a BEST member to apply for a BEST course?
It is not necessary to be a member of the local BEST group to register and participate in the course.
How many students will be admitted to the course?
Each course has 20-22 participants from different European countries.
What are the requirements to register for the course?
The only requirement for application is that you are a student of the University of Novi Sad and belong to one of the relevant categories for the courses.
In order to apply for one of the courses, is it necessary that the subject of the course be in the field of my studies?
It is not necessary if the course you are applying for is basic. If you are applying for one of the advanced courses, then it is necessary that you possess certain knowledge in that area, which are listed in the course description.
How do I validate my account?
The account is validated after the deadline for applications for courses. In order to validate your account, you need an index for inspection in order to confirm that you are indeed a student of the University of Novi Sad. Our coordinator for BEST courses will inform you by email about everything that is needed.
How do I write a motivational letter?
The cover letter should be informal. It is important to show interest in the academic part of the seminar, but also your fun side. Keep in mind that organizers receive a large number of motivational letters and what you want is for yours to stand out. Convince them that you are the person they need. You can get a lot of useful tips at our workshop on writing motivational letters, but you can also see examples of good and bad motivational letters.
How do I register for the course?

Step 2: Choose the course you want to apply for from the list of offered courses.
Step 3: Click the Apply now button to get to the page where you need to write a motivational letter in English and answer the questions.

On what basis is the selection of participants made?
The selection of participants is based on the quality of motivational letters and answered questions, both professional and humorous. Also, during the selection of participants, the organizers take into account the fact that it is desirable for the participants to be from as many different countries as possible, so that during the course the participants will get to know as many different cultures as possible.
Do I need to have an English language certificate?
It is not necessary that you have a certificate in knowledge of the English language, but it is necessary that you have a good enough knowledge because all teaching and communication with professors, participants and organizers takes place in English.
How many courses can I apply for in one season?
During one season, you can register for a maximum of 3 courses. If you are applying for several courses, you need to rank them in order of importance in relation to which one you most want to participate in.
What happens if I am not selected as a participant?
If you are not selected as a participant, do not give up, but apply again next season to one of the courses that interest you. Also, you can attend our motivational letter writing workshops and ask us live for advice on what a good motivational letter for the BEST course should look like. There is a possibility to go and help the organizers for less spent resources if you are a member of the organizations.

Every season, we hold workshops where you can ask about everything you are interested in about the courses and find out tips and tricks for applying to the courses, what to expect on the courses and some other interesting facts. You will also have the opportunity to hear the personal experiences of students who attended BEST courses.
